Police car lights

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah authorities have urged residents to drive safely after stopping a vehicle traveling more than 100 mph during a winter storm.

KUTV-TV reported Thursday that a Utah Highway Patrol trooper had an adrenaline-charged drive while trying to stop a car he clocked at 103 mph in a 75-mph zone during a Thanksgiving snowstorm.

Authorities posted a photo of the issued ticket Thursday to Twitter citing concerns for the safety of other travelers.

Troopers say the driver was stopped on Interstate 15 in Utah County.

Authorities have not yet released potential charges.
