Fairview Museum Hosts Christmas Tree Forest Celebration

By Staff | Nov 30, 2022

Museum visitor, Mable Rayor (4) and Rinda Thompson, board member, pose as Shirlene Rasmussen, Fairview City Councilman, playfully peers around a wreath she donated for the Christmas Tree Forest event held annually at the Fairview Museum.

Each year, The Fairview Museum of History and Art hosts the Christmas Tree Forest Celebration. Individuals and local businesses unite to decorate and deliver beautiful Christmas trees for deserving families in Sanpete. The trees are delivered by Branch Cox and Mayor Brad Welch each Christmas season.

“The best part is the surprise on the faces and the gratefulness and happiness of the families when a tree is unexpectedly delivered to their home,” says Welch.

Rinda Thomson has been directing the annual fundraiser for several years now and says it has grown into a tradition. “You kind of fall in love with the trees and it’s hard to give them away.”

This year wreathes have been added to the display of trees so that more people would have the opportunity to create, donate, and purchase for families. The themes vary but are all beautifully decorated.

If you are interested in donating a tree/wreath or know of family that could use an extra boost of love this year, call Branch Cox at (435) 469-1369 or Rinda Thompson at (435) 851-6087. The public is welcome to simply come view the trees and wreaths, or purchase for themselves or for a family.

The Fairview Museum is located at 55 North 100 East, Fairview. Winter hours are Tuesday-Thursday noon to 4 p.m., and Friday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thank you for your support.
