Temple Hill selected by two prophets, different dispensations

Temple Hill, site of the Manti Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Mormon Miracle Pageant, was selected as the site for the temple by two prophets, Brigham Young and Moroni.

Sacred records tell of two prophets of different dispensations selecting Temple Hill as the site for a temple.

Second president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Brigham Young, accompanied by Warren R. Snow, while visiting pioneer settlers in Sanpete County, prophesied that a temple would adorn the hill and the ancient Prophet Moroni, is said to have stood and dedicated the hill for a temple.

Young told Snow on April 25, 1850, “Here is the spot where Moroni stood and dedicated this piece of land for a temple site and that is why the location is made here and we can’t move it from this spot; and if you and I are the only persons that come here at high noon today, we will dedicate this ground.”
