Race: Pleasant Grove Mayor
Occupation: City Councilwoman
Education: Bachelor of Business Management
Facebook: Cyd 4 PG Mayor
What are the biggest issues facing your city and Utah Valley, and how do you plan to address them?
Road repairs and economic development. To address the road issue, I believe in implementing a fee in which a continuous revenue stream would be 100% dedicated to road repair. In regards to economic development, as a city we must continue to be "open for business" and be willing to offer incentives to new anchor developments as well as supporting existing local businesses.
What sets you apart from other candidates?
My ability to communicate and connect with the people of Pleasant Grove. From my first day in office 5 years ago, I committed to improving communication between the public and elected officials. Through managing a social media page with over 6,000 members that connects residents to what is going on in the city, to regular e-mails sent to citizens, making myself available in person or over the phone at any hour and most importantly being willing to listen. I have given 110% to ensure the public knows and understands the important issues and events in their city.

Is there anything else you want your readers to know about you?
Serving as an elected leader in Pleasant Grove for the past five years, I have gained the knowledge, experience and dedication needed to hold the position of Mayor. I have worked together with residents through the toughest issues our city has faced including the passing of the Public Safety Building, working to implement a road fee, reducing high density housing, and attracting quality business to improve our much needed tax base. My voting record and involvement on these issues reflects the focus I have on improving our quality of life in Pleasant Grove while knowing that every decision I make not only affects my family, but yours as well.
My husband Ryan and I have been married for 18 years and are raising our 3 boys to love Pleasant Grove as much as we do. My experience as a lifelong resident, educational background, community involvement, passionate commitment to the people of Pleasant Grove and years of learning how the city operates, confirms that I truly know and understand the needs of our growing city.
With an established and proven record on behalf of all who have made Pleasant Grove their home, I have prepared myself to be the voice for our community as the Mayor of Pleasant Grove.
