Head Coach: Mike Mower

2015 record: 13-1 overall, 6-0 Region 4 (1st)

Playoffs: Lost to Herriman 17-14 in 5A final.

Players to watch: Jackson McChesney, Sr. RB/WR; Dakota Hansen, Sr. QB; Tyler MacPherson, Sr. WR; Ammon Hannemann, Sr. DB/WR; Preston Lewis, Sr. DE; A.J. Arrington, Sr. LB

Outlook: The Knights are coming off a perfect season right up to the last 30 seconds, when Herriman made a play that allowed them to capture the 5A crown.

“That last game is ancient history now,” said coach Mike Mower. “All you can do is learn from it and hope that it has kept the kids hungry and eager to want to get back there again.”

However, the coach emphasized that they’re not looking that far ahead.

“Our concern right now is one practice at a time,” he said. “We expect our kids to ask themselves, ‘Have I improved today? Am I willing to pay the price every day to be my best?’ Past teams have set a standard here, but it’s always easier said than done to reach that level again. Those intangibles are so important and we’ve got to have them. I’m talking about chemistry, unity and unselfishness. If we can get those to the level we need, we have a chance to be pretty good.”

Tradition: “The community has high expectations here. The kids have a standard in front of them to reach for but they know it’s their own team and they have to take the reins and run with it.” -- head coach Mike Mower
