Head Coach: Steve Coburn

2015 record: 8-3 overall, 5-1 Region 8 (2nd)

Playoffs: Lost to Bountiful 42-17 in 4A first round.

Players to watch: Grayson Wynne, QB; Nash Jones, WR; Antonio Rino, LB; Caden Badger, DL

Outlook: The Wasps are coming off a strong season where they established themselves as one of the teams to beat in Region 8. While Wasatch has a number of gaps to fill after making the playoffs last fall, don’t expect a huge drop off.

Wasp head coach Steve Coburn has created a culture of excellence as Wasatch has gotten accustomed Class 4A competition. Opponents now know his teams will be tough to beat.

Many athletes will be stepping into the spotlight this season and that means there are many unknowns as far as how the pieces will come together up in Heber City. Wasatch has a lot of athletes to turn to, particularly in the trenches, but there will be mistakes at times.

Look for Grayson Wynne to lead the way from the quarterback position and he’ll look to get the ball to Nash Jones both as a running back and a receiver.

The Wasps won’t be able to sneak up on any of their league foes this year but Wasatch maintains one of the top home-field advantages in the area with the support they get for games in Heber.

Tradition: Wasatch has had some good teams over the years but has had a tough time breaking through to be the best in a given year. It isn't easy for the Wasps in 4A but Wasatch keeps looking to get everything together to make a big run. -- Daily Herald
