During the Saturday morning session of the 181st Semi-Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, President Thomas S. Monson announced to members globally that the remains of the charred Provo Tabernacle would be rebuilt into a temple.

That announcement came Oct. 1, 2011. Since then, the groundbreaking ceremony was held May 12, 2012 and the statue of Angel Moroni was raised March 31, 2014. With the temple dedication set for March 20, 2016, only a few weeks remain until the restored edifice will be closed to the public.

But did you know the temple features four floors? Or that it will include salvaged remains of the Provo Tabernacle? Check out this slideshow for some interesting facts about the Provo City Center Temple.
