Here’s a look at the top high school football, girls soccer and volleyball teams in Utah Valley as of Aug. 23:

GIRLS SOCCER

1. Pleasant Grove (7-0, 0-0)

The Vikings swept the non-league slate but now face the Region 4 gauntlet.

2. Lone Peak (5-0, 0-0)

The Knights were tested by top teams in Idaho but still got a pair of wins.

3. Timpanogos (4-0, 1-0)

The T’Wolves were perfect in the shootout to edge rival Mountain View.

4. American Fork (4-2, 0-0)

Will the Caveman losses to Fremont and Olympus pay dividends down the road?

5. Timpview (5-1, 1-0)

The Thunderbirds blasted Jordan to start Region 7 action.

FOOTBALL

1. American Fork (2-0)

Cavemen have outscored first two opponents 105-14.

2. Lone Peak (2-0)

Two quality wins to begin 2021 campaign.

3. Skyridge (2-0)

Falcons haven’t allowed a point in first two games.

4. Orem (2-0)

Tigers have won four in a row against city rival Mountain View.

5. Timpview (1-1)

T-Birds wiped out Kearns 54-0 at Charger Kickoff Classic.
