All-Valley Girls Lacrosse 2022

Player of the Year: River Buechner Sr., Skyridge

The senior dominated in all phases of the game, scoring 78 goals with 26 assists for 103 points, making an impressive 84 percent of her shots. She also totaled 91 draw controls, 87 ground balls and 52 caused turnovers. River will play college lacrosse at Division II power Pomona-Pitzer College next season.

Offensive MVP: Haven Beuchner, Jr., Skyridge

Haven led the valley in points (124) with 73 goals and 51 assists. She made 65 percent of her shots and also added 74 draw controls and 69 ground balls.

Goalkeeper MVP: Kathren Moreau Sr., Lehi

Moreau surrendered just 4.9 goals per game, facing 234 shots and making 147 saves for a 63 percent save mark.

Coach of the Year: Collin Gill, Skyridge

The Falcons were once again the top team in the valley, rolling up 18 consecutive wins and earning a spot in the 6A state championship game.

ALL-VALLEY FIRST TEAM

Jessica Edwards Sr., Provo

Edwards offensive push was key for the Bulldogs with 51 goals and 37 assists for 88 points.

The Wasps made a nice run at the end of the season and Erker played a big part, scoring a whopping 86 goals and adding four assists for 90 points.

Karli Fielder Jr., Lehi

Fielder helped the Pioneers near the top of the rankings with 74 goals and 14 assists for a total of 88 points.

Ellie Fuller Jr., Lone Peak

Fuller’s work in goal kept the Knights in the hunt. She surrendered 8.8 goals per game with 144 saves, earning a save percentage of .481.

Brooklyn Gibson Sr., Skyridge

Gibson totaled 34 goals and four assists and 38 points for the 6A runners-up.

Quincy Haslam Jr., Timpanogos

Halsam was one of the valley’s top goal keepers, giving up just 4.9 goals per game with 113 saves and a save percentage of .525.

Cori Jones, Jr., Lone Peak

Jones totaled 37 goals and 11 assists for 48 points at Lone Peak.

McKenna Mecham So. Payson

Mecham anchored the Lions defense and allowed just 5.9 goals per game, making 126 saves and posting a strong .615 save percentage.

Sophia Nielsen Sr., Wasatch

Nielsen made herself dangerous on the field with 60 goals and 17 assists for 77 total points.

Sally Otterstrom Sr., Provo

Otterstrom was another big threat for the Bulldogs with 45 goals and 11 assists for 56 points.

Olivia Ottley Sr., Springville

Ottley was a good one for the Red Devils, posting 46 goals and 10 assists for 56 total points.

Maddie Potvin Jr., Lone Peak

Potvin put in 69 goals with 15 assists for 84 points as the Knights advanced to the 6A semifinals.

Elle Scott Jr., Provo

Scott made big strides for the Bulldogs with 41 goals and 17 assists for 58 points.

Katelyn Sperry Sr., Pleasant Grove

Sperry was a handful on the offensive end, scoring 65 goals with 17 assists for 82 total points.

MacKenzie Sulz Sr., Pleasant Grove

Sulz repeated on the All-Valley team, making 69 goals and 14 assists for 83 points.

Rachel Taylor, Sr., American Fork

Taylor was AF’s main offensive threat, scoring 51 goals and adding six assists for 57 points.

Maizie Thompson Sr., Springville

Thompson totaled 40 goals and an assists for 41 points for the Red Devils.

Eliza White, So., Skyridge

White was stellar in goal for the Falcons, allowing 8.2 goals against with 107 saves.

Amelia Yarro Sr., Timpanogos

Yarro helped lead the Timberwolves into the second round of the 5A tournament with 47 goals and five assists for 52 points.

Katie Yost Sr., Payson

Yost was tough to stop all season, totaling 65 goals and 14 assists for 79 points.
