BYU women’s basketball coach Amber Whiting announced the Cougars’ 11-game non-conference schedule on Friday morning.

Whiting, entering her third season at the helm, will lead the Cougars into their second year as a member of the Big 12 Conference after an 11-game non-conference slate featuring five postseason teams from a year ago, including national runner-up Iowa. BYU will play five home games, three true road games and two neutral site contests during non-conference play.

“I am excited about the non-conference schedule our staff has put together,” Whiting said. “The games we will play in the non-conference season will be key in helping our team prepare for our second year in the Big 12. Each of the teams we will face will give us an opportunity to solidify our rotations, build team chemistry and find our identity as a team.”

The Cougars will open the season with three straight home games, with the Idaho Vandals kicking off the season on Nov. 6 at the Marriott Center before former Mountain West rival Wyoming visits BYU on Nov. 9. Wyoming reached the WNIT Great Eight after an 18-15 record in 2023-24. BYU will then face the Rams of Colorado State on Nov. 13 who posted a 20-11 record last season.

The first road trip of the year for the Cougars will come in a visit to Pocatello to take on the Idaho State Bengals on Nov. 16. BYU will then return home on Nov. 19 to take on the McNeese Cowgirls before a date with the Northern Colorado Bears on Nov. 23.

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, the Cougars will travel to Cancún, Mexico for the 19th Cancún Challenge. BYU will first face the Rice Owls on Nov. 29 who earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2024 after winning the American Athletic Conference Championship in their first year as a conference member. The Cougars will then face their most stout test of the non-conference season as they match up with the 2024 national runner-up Iowa Hawkeyes on Nov. 30.

After returning from Mexico, BYU will visit the UTEP Miners on Dec. 5 before hosting the Utah Valley Wolverines on Dec. 10. The Cougars will conclude their non-conference campaign with a trip to the Palouse to take on the Washington State Cougars on Dec. 13. Washington State went 21-15 during the 2023-24 season en route to the WBIT Final Four appearance before losing to eventual champion Illinois.

Following the non-conference slate, the Cougars will embark on Big 12 play as they look to improve on a 6-12 conference record from its inaugural season as a member of the conference.

All 2023-24 BYU games will be broadcast on BYU Radio 107.9 FM, the BYU Radio App and the Nu Skin BYU Sports Network. Television and streaming details will be released at a later time.
