BYU had a golden opportunity to hold serve at home and break out of this “third-best-team-in-the-WCC” rut it’s been stuck in.

Instead, the Cougars failed to hold onto the lead in regulation, missed a shot that would have won it and fell apart in the ensuing overtime session. On Saturday, Saint Mary’s won its fourth straight game against BYU, taking a 74-64 victory in front of 16,212 hopeful fans at the Marriott Center.
