When the BYU football team came on the field at LaVell Edwards Stadium against the Washington Huskies on Saturday afternoon, Cougar fans were excited about the throwback uniforms.

However, the excitement quickly turned to frustration as BYU commited a few costly penalties that allowed Washington to go down and score on multiple drives in the first half. Add on the play when BYU quarterback Zach Willson fumbled on a sack, and Washington scooped up the ball and scored a touchdown, and Twitter was on fire with negativity.

A drive to end the half resulted in a 54-yard field goal by Jake Oldroyd to cut the Huskies' lead to 12 at the break.

The opening drive for the Cougars looked promising until Dax Milne fumbled and the Huskies recovered the ball. Washington then turned the turnover into points, scoring a touchdown on a 35-yard pass.

After a Max Tooley interception, Wilson found Matt Bushman in the endzone to end the third quarter.

Washington beat BYU, 45-19.
