When the BYU has played Boise State at Albertsons Stadium in Boise, the home team often has worn blue jerseys to blend into its unique blue turf.

In the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl against the Western Michigan Broncos on Friday afternoon, the Cougars took a lesson from Boise State, and wore its own royal blue jerseys with matching blue pants, and fans on Twitter loved it.

After a Western Michigan botched punt, the Cougars took an early lead on a touchdown pass by Zach Wilson to Dylan Collie.Β 

But in the second quarter, a fumbled reverse by BYU led to Western Michigan leveling the score on a 33-yard run by Jamauri Bogan. Then tacked on a 47-yard field goal to take the lead at halftime.

Wilson was 18-for-18 passing for 317 yards and four touchdowns.

BYU beat Western Michigan, 49-18.
