Early in Saturday's BYU-USC football game at LaVell Edwards Stadium, it looked like it was going to be a long afternoon for the home team as the Trojans drove easily down the field and scored a touchdown.

But two interceptions by the Cougar defense, and the offense moving the ball with a mixture of rushing and passing, lead to a 17-17 tie score at halftime.

Fans on Twitter were pleased with both sides of the ball for the Cougars.

The second half turned into a slugfest, as both teams moved the ball, but could not put points on the scoreboard.

In the fourth quarter USC scored on a controversial touchdown pass to Michael Pittman Jr.  BYU responded with a score of its own, as Jake Oldroyd made a field goal to cut into the Trojan lead.

Add in a touchdown pass run from Zach Wilson and a responding 50-yard field goal from USC and the game headed to overtime.

In overtime, USC's defense held BYU to a field goal from Oldroyd, meaning BYU's defense had to hold strong. BYU ended the game on an interception, winning over the Trojans, 30-27.

As the fans stormed the field, BYU players and coaches could be seen hugging friends and family.
