When Cougar fans tuned into the BYU football game against San Diego State on Saturday night, they might have expected to see Ty Detmer or Jamal Willis on the field at SDCCU Stadium.

The Cougars came out in their royal blue road uniforms, which looked similar to the uniforms that Detmer and Willis wore in classic battles with the Aztecs in the early 90's.

But unlike those classic shootout games where scores often reacted into the 40's and 50's, San Diego State leads BYU at halftime, 7-3.

Fans were frustrated by penalties, sluggish offense performances and allowing the Aztecs to score a touchdown with 13 seconds left in the half.

San Diego State drove into BYU territory on its first drive, and kicked a field goal.

BYU missed a 26-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter, and the Aztecs took the ball down the field to tack on a field goal of their own.

San Diego State beat BYU, 13-3.
