The offseason for BYU football can be one of the longest for fans.
But throughout the football-less desert that are the months of June, July and the beginning of August, there are a few oasis’ to help quench your football thirst, and keep you going strong toward the season opener, Sept. 1 against the Arizona Wildcats in Tucson, Arizona.
Wednesday marks 100 days until the season kicks off.
Here are 10 things BYU fans can do while they wait for BYU football to return.

Hike the Y
When Bronco Mendenhall was the head coach at BYU, he would have the football team run to the Y.
That’s a tough feat, but hiking to the Y is possible.
A word of advice however: Go early. Once the sun rises over Y Mountain, there is no shade on the trail.
Watch old games from when BYU was good
Let's be honest, the 2017 BYU football season was rough. With losses to Utah, Utah State, Boise State and UMass, the 4-9 record was hard to watch.
BYUtv has many old games that fans can watch online. Relive Ty Detmer's win over No. 1 Miami, Jim McMahon to Clay Brown in the 1980 Miracle Bowl or BYU's last victory over Utah in 2009.
Read a magazine
This might sound like something reserved for the dentist office, but the preseason college football magazines are a great way to gain information. From Phil Steele to Lindy’s, Athlon to Street and Smith's, these magazines can give fans insight into the Cougars, as well as help scout the tough 2018 schedule.
Watch the BYU vs. Utah golf tournament
The Holy War is a bitter rivalry. Things can get heated between BYU and Utah, especially on the football field. But, before the two teams meet Nov. 24 at Rice-Eccles Stadium, Utah’s Kyle Whittingham and BYU’s Kalani Sitake to meet on the golf course this summer.
The loser traditionally has to sing the other school’s fight song.
Watch the 2018 NBA Draft
The 2018 NBA Draft will be held on June 21. Former BYU basketball standout Elijah Bryant has entered his name in the draft, and hopes to hear his name called.
Good luck Elijah, Cougars fans will be rooting for you wherever you go.

BYU Football Media Day is on June 22 this year, and it’s an all day event.
Call in sick, take a vacation day or schedule fake meetings. Do whatever you have to recharge your BYU football batteries to give you that boost through July and August to get to Sept. 1.
Attend the Stadium of Fire
OneRepublic headlines this year’s Stadium of Fire on July 4. But any excuse to be inside LaVell Edwards Stadium is good enough, right?

On August 26, the Daily Herald will publish its annual football special section.
Inside will be stories, stats and photos to get Cougar fans ready for the 2018 season.
Go to a high school football game
Friday night lights are a time for BYU fans to get to know potential future Cougars.
Current Cougars Corbin Kaufusi, Rickey Shumway, Zac Dawe and KJ Hall, all played football for Utah County high schools.
The first games were on August 17.
Attend a Fan Fest event
The BYU athletics program traditionally holds Fan Fest events across the state and region so that Cougar fans can meet their favorite athletes and coaches.
The most recent event was held in Mesa, Arizona on May 5.
No other events have been announced at this time, but the annual Cougar Kickoff, is usually held in mid-August at Haws Field near the BYU Indoor Practice Facility.
