Outlook: Tucker Camp had a pretty good junior year in his first season as a starting quarterback. Orem coach Tyler Anderson expects Camp to be even better in 2014.

“Tucker’s arm strength is a little better this year,” Anderson said. “He’s gotten better at throwing deep. His biggest asset is he can do things with his legs. When the play breaks down, he can make things happen. He’s been working hard in the weight room and he’s gotten stronger so he can take some of those hits that quarterbacks have to take.”

Camp threw for 2,502 yards and 23 touchdowns as a junior and also ran for 710 yards and nine scores in the Tigers spread offense.

Anderson hired a new defensive coordinator in former Westlake coach Jason Walker. He should help improve a defense that gave up more than 28 points per game in 2013.

“He’s going to be a good coach for us. He knows his stuff,” Anderson said. “The defense has been playing well this spring and summer, so I’m excited for what he can do for us.”

Zuke says: The defending region champs are looking to extend their season at least another week into the post-season.
