Everyone who has watched Timpview girls basketball probably had a good idea that the Thunderbirds would need Shalyn Fano to come up big for the team to reach their potential.
Fano has answered the call, particularly during last week’s three-game stretch for Timpview. Fano poured in 47 total points (15.7 points per game) as the Thunderbirds came away with three straight wins.
Fano had a big showing at Taylorsville as she poured in 23 points to lead Timpview to victory. She is also a solid defender and a dangerous rebounder who is always getting after the ball.
The Cavemen have sent a message early in the 2018-19 season that they are back with a vengeance — and Isaac Johnson is a big reason why.
In last week’s Utah Elite 8 tournament, Johnson played a huge role in helping American Fork stay undefeated by getting three wins. He tallied 25 points, 12 rebounds and four assists in the 55-48 finals win over Region 4-foe Bingham.
Johnson is averaging 20.2 points per game and 11.4 rebounds per game so far for the Cavemen, which is one reason American Fork enters the week with a 5-0 record.
