Desert Hills advanced semifinalist in all five brackets of the Class 4A tennis championships on Thursday at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City to take the lead in the tournament.

Desert Hills scored 10 points on the first day of competition. Ridgeline has semifinalists in four of the five brackets and scored nine points heading into Saturdays finals.

Seniors Gabby Bailey and Abby Dunn of Orem won two matches to advance to the semifinals of the 2nd Doubles bracket, topping Kate Church and Gabby Hafen of Pine View 6-1, 6-0 and Page Longhurst and Avery Chadwick of Ridgeline 7-6 (6), 6-2. Bailey and Dunn will face Lyndsi Graff and Averee Beck of Desert Hills in one of the 2nd Doubles semifinals.

The other semifinals in 2nd Doubles includes junior Meg Weeks and freshman Leah DeHart of Salem Hills, which defeated Mychaella Wisneske and Annie Heaton of Dixie 6-4, 6-1 and Region 11 No. 1 Lauren Allen and Daniela Santos of Park City 6-4, 6-2. Weeks and DeHart will take on Unitah’s Sierra Law and Camry Myers in the semifinals.
