Salem native, Church of Jesus Christ missionary dies of unknown causes in New Mexico
A Salem native serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Mexico died Saturday of unknown causes, according to church officials. Elder Caleb Gene Martin, 21, who was serving in the New Mexico Farmington Mission, died unexpectedly in his sleep from a medical cause that has not yet been determined, church spokesperson Sam Penrod said.
