Fire burning in American Fork Canyon
Lightning sparked a fire midday on Monday in American Fork Canyon.
Loyal Clark with the U.S. Forest Service said the fire is about 10 acres and is burning in rugged, steep terrain where firefighters can’t reach it.
She said that area hadn’t had any rain by Monday night but that the flames were not threatening any structures. She said that a helicopter was able to extinguish part of the blaze earlier in the day on Monday but that flames were still visible in Swinging Bridge Canyon.
