Council members of American Fork agreed to support the Central Utah Project Conservancy District Monday night at the regular council meeting held at the City Hall. Seven counties in Central Utah are participating in the conservancy district, in laying a foundation for the water project for Utah and the other counties, for the waters from Flaming Gorge area down through Strawberry Reservoir and into the central Utah area for use in the future.

American Fork is scheduled for a large home building program during 1953 if plans submitted to the City Council Monday evening are carried out. Upwards of a hundred new residences should go up during the building season if present plans mature.

Wayne Day and Jens Johnsson of Highland were awarded their Eagle Scout badges at a court of awards held this week in Highland Ward. These are the first Eagle badges to be awarded in the Alpine Stake for several years.

Sgt. Howard Cunnningham and Cpl. John Green left Monday for Camp Forrest, Tenn., after spending a short furlough with their parents, Mrs. Jennie Cunnningham and Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Green.

Severe temperatures of from 8 to 16 degrees below zero have prevailed for the past ten days. February 7 proved to be the coldest day of the entire winter. The temperature did not drop to the lowest point of the period, but dropped to 8 below and never got above that for the entire twenty-four hours.

Junior Class officers are making plans for the annual Junior Prom which will take place March 24th. The dance hall will be transformed into a beautiful rose garden scene under the able hand of Mr. George Pierson of Tremonton who has been hired to do the job.
