Monument to Sgt. Cory Wride to be unveiled Tuesday in American Fork

A monument to slain Utah County Sheriff Deputy Cory Wride will be unveiled in a short ceremony in American Fork.

The ceremony will take place Tuesday evening June 24, 2014, at 6:30 p.m.

Announced last month at the city’s Memorial Day program, the monument is now complete and in place near the playground in Robinson Park, 100 E. Main St.

American Fork James H. Hadfield and other city officials, as well as members of Sgt. Wride’s family, will be in attendance. The ceremony will consist of brief remarks, followed by the unveiling.

Sgt. Wride grew up in American Fork and was killed in the line of duty January 30, 2014.
