NUTCRACKER BALLET

By Daily Herald - | Nov 26, 2008

Classical Ballet Academy, under the direction of Jennie Creer-King, will present a Christmas favorite, “The Nutcracker” on Saturday, Dec. 13, with performances at 2 and 7:30 p.m. at the American Leadership Academy in Spanish Fork.

This ballet tradition features young talent from all across Utah Valley. Choreographer Creer-King, winner of Utah’s Best of State Award in Choreography 2008, has created a fantasy ballet with dancing harlequin dolls, whimsical mice, toy soldiers, suger plums, candy canes, dancing ginger breads and of course a romantic twist where Clara falls in love and dances the grand pas de deux with her prince charming.

This year’s lead dancers are Tiare Keeno and Kazlyn Nielsen of Spanish Fork who will perform the role of Clara. Kyle Weight of Springville will be the Nutcracker Soldier.

Ginger Christopher of Spanish Fork and Treavor Brackney from BYU will perform the roles of Snow Queen and Prince. Jeni Billings of Springville and Leah Beackwith of Highland will be the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Tickets will be available at the door for $10 adults, $7 children 3 to 11 and seniors.

Starting at $4.32/week.
