By Daily Herald - | Nov 26, 2008

Temkin International, a worldwide plastics company headquartered in Payson, will present The Dalton Brothers’ A Hometown Christmas benefit concert. “We like to support community events like A Hometown Christmas,” said Danny Temkin of Temkin International. “We are true believers in events that foster great community spirit.”

Marking the Dalton Brothers’ 13th hometown Christmas, the 2008 concert, scheduled for Friday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. in the Payson High School auditorium, will benefit The Nebo Education Foundation, particularly the David C. Dahlquist Scholarship Fund.

This scholarship was established to honor a master music teacher and assist deserving students with their post high school education.

“A lot of people have asked if we will do the show this year,” says Tim Morganson. “We know many groups offer wonderful holiday shows; not only do we enjoy helping where we can, we are pleased when people tell us ‘A Hometown Christmas’ really helps launch their season.”

Tickets are $7 for adults and $6 for seniors and students and are available at Payson branches of Zions, Far West and Central Banks. They may also be purchased at Morganson Custom Frames at 51 S. Historic Main Street in Payson or at the door.

Thanks to generous sponsors–Temkin International, The Daily Herald and Greg’s Distinctive Decorating of Santaquin–all proceeds will be donated to the Scholarship Fund.

The Dalton Brothers have performed for audiences throughout Utah. The concert for 30,000 at the Utah Parks Council Heritage Jamboral was certainly a highlight.

They have entertained at America’s Freedom Festival at Provo, Brigham Young University, National Shriners Convention, and Novell. They have performed with Maureen McGovern, Suzy Bogguss, Merrill Osmond, Kurt Bestor and Sam Cardon. The Dalton Brothers, A Hometown Christmas has raised more than $20,000 for charitable organizations.

Joining the Dalton Brothers for A Hometown Christmas will be The Payson Civic Choral who has been performing under the direction of David C. Dahlquist since 1982, Robert Morganson a regular performer at Dalton’s Fine Dining, and Tina Samuels, the Dalton’s sister. The Santaquin Community Choir will also join the Dalton’s for the first time this year. The choir performs under the direction of Craig Evans, and includes singers from Santaquin, Genola, Goshen, West Mountain, Elberta and Payson.

“We are delighted to have so much wonderful talent in the community,” says Tim. “We hope you will come and help us celebrate the season!”

Starting at $4.32/week.
