SANPETE COUNTY– Community calendar activities for the month of November are as follows:

HEAT

applications

The Six County Association of Government HEAT workers will be at the following senior citizen center to take applications. Call the centers to schedule an appointment.

10 a.m. – noon, Wednesday, Dec. 3, Ephraim Senior Citizen Center, 85 West 100 North, 435-283-6310.

The HEAT season runs from Nov. 2008 through April 2009. Call the Manti Six Counties office to schedule regular HEAT appointments at 435-835-2831.

Pet fix special

No More Homeless Pets in Utah offers a free fix special to all local low-income families. Contact Gunnison Valley Animal Clinic, 630 South Main; North Valley Veterinary Clinic, 425 South 800 West, Salina; or Richfield Veterinary Clinic, 910 East 300 North, Richfield for details.

Donate cell phones

The Sanpete Valley Hospital is collecting old cell phones and cell phone batteries. Secure the call foundation takes phones, fixes them and reprograms them to be used as free 911 emergency phones. This can be done without a carrier service plan so the phones are distributed to domestic violence shelters, senior centers, neighborhood watch groups, school crossing guards and other agency with need of immediate 911 access. For more information get online at www.donatemycellphone.org. or just drop off the cell phone and cell phone battery at the Sanpete Valley Hospital in Mt. Pleasant.

Nov. 28

Manti Light Parade. Early shopping, Santa, movie, refreshments. Businesses open at 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Contact Manti City Hall, 835-2401 for further information.

Nov. 29

A created gifts boutique will take place from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Fountain Green Dance Hall, l84 South State. Booth fees will go toward Sub 4 Santa. Items include crocheted items, handcrafted gifts and Christmas ornaments, scrapbooking, stained glass items, leather goods and jewelry.

6 to 8 p.m., In conjunction with the Mt. Pleasant City Christmas lighting ceremony, local businesses will sponsor a kid’s Christmas Jubilee on Main Street. There will be games and prizes at each business for children of all ages. Everyone is encouraged to come out and celebrate the season.

Dec. 2

7:30 p.m., “Sounds of the Season” Choral Concert, Jorgensen Concert Hall, in the Eccles Center for the Performing Arts.

Dec. 3

7 p.m., Snow Dance Unplugged, Eccles Theatre. Event is free to attend.

Dec. 4

7:30 p.m., Orchestra Concert, Jorgensen Concert Hall, in the E ccles Center for the Performing Arts.

Dec. 5

Ephraim City encourages participants from all communities to participate in their Annual Electric Light Parade to be held Friday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m. The Theme for this year’s parade is “Christmas Traditions” There is no entry fee. Entry Forms are available at the Ephraim City Building, or call Ephraim City at 283-4631. Cash prizes will be awarded.
