Miller 50th

WEST VALLEY CITY– Delray and Sheila Miner Miller, West Valley City, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Thursday, April 9, 2009. They met Sept. 16, 1958, and were married April 9, 1959, in the Manti LDS Temple.

Delray grew up in Manti, and graduated from Manti High School. He then spent four years in the Air Force, stationed most of the time in Germany.

After his release from the military, he worked for Federal Aviation Administration for 31 years at the Salt Lake International Airport.

Since his retirement in 1992, he has enjoyed being home doing yard work and helping with different building projects for the family.

Sheila grew up in Fairview, and graduated from North Sanpete High School. The next two years she attended Brigham Young University.

She was mostly a stay-at-home mom, but after raising her children, she did work at Winder Dairy in West Valley City for 24 years.

Sheila enjoys visiting with friends, shopping, scrapbooking, and sewing. Most of all, Delray and Sheila enjoy being with their grandchildren.

Delray and Sheila are the parents of two children: Melanie and Jeff Miles, West Valley City; and Brian and Debbie Miller, Fairview.

They have eight grandchildren, Mason (currently serving an LDS mission in Ecuador), Jordan and Morgan Miles,West Valley City; and Rulen, Allie, Westen, Caitlyn and Lydia Miller, Fairview.

Sheila and Delray have lived in the same home in West Valley City for 47 years.

Life has been good to them. They love their family and extended family very much and hope to be together for many more years.
