Ephraim Lions
fund raiser
The Ephraim Lions Club and See’s Chocolate have joined forces for a fundraiser to build a new kitchen pavilion at the Canyon View Park, Ephraim. See’s Chocolates are available at Island Riders, 69 South Main. Orders are currently being taken. Contact 283-4188.
Flu vaccines
The Central Utah Public Health Department is offering flu vaccines at their Manti, Mt. Pleasant, Richfield, Delta, Fillmore, Nephi, Loa and Junction offices this season. Walk-ins are always welcome and most insurances are accepted.
Pet fix special
No More Homeless Pets in Utah offers a free fix special to all local low-income families. Contact Gunnison Valley Animal Clinic, 630 South Main; North Valley Veterinary Clinic, 425 South 800 West, Salina; or Richfield Veterinary Clinic, 910 East 300 North, Richfield for details.
Donate cell phones
The Sanpete Valley Hospital is collecting old cell phones and cell phone batteries. Secure the call foundation takes phones, fixes them and reprograms them to be used as free 911 emergency phones. This can be done without a carrier service plan so the phones are distributed to domestic violence shelters, senior centers, neighborhood watch groups, school crossing guards and other agency with need of immediate 911 access. For more information get online at www.donatemycellphone.org. or just drop off the cell phone and cell phone battery at the Sanpete Valley Hospital in Mt. Pleasant.

Pin contest
The souvenir pin design contest for Ephraim’s Scandinavian Heritage Festival has resumed after a one-year hiatus.
Designs must be drawn on regular letter-size paper and must be delivered to Gary Anderson at the Ephraim City Building, 5 South Main or e-mailed to gary.anderson@usu.edu.
An $100 prize is available for the winning entry and all entries must be submitted by Friday, Feb. 13. Contact Gary Anderson at 283-4631

Spend the night at the new Sanpete Co. Jail. For $15 get a t-shirt, mug shot , breakfast and dinner plus a movie either January 30th to the 31st or February 6th to the 7th….call for details and restrictions. or take a walk through visit, on Friday, Jan. 30 from 6-9 p.m., or Saturday, Jan. 31 from 8 to 10 a.m. Contact Sheriff’s office at 835-2191.

8:30 a.m.-12 p.m., Mt. Pleasant LDS Stake Merit Badge Pow Wow for Scouts ages 11 through 17, in the Mt. Pleasant LDS Stake Center, 300 South State Street. Registration closes Jan. 28. Register online at utahscouts.org. The Pow Wow will be held for three Saturdays.
