Community heart workshop
Utah Valley Heart & Vascular Services will host the 2009 Your Heart: A Healthy Investment Community Workshop on Feb. 6 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the Clark Auditorium at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
This year’s workshop will highlight several different topics including hormone replacement therapy and how it does or does not impact heart disease; how to shop for the right foods and then prepare them at home; and how to use an exercise ball to incorporate strength training into your workout routine.
It will also focus on how a variety of prevention tools can improve your quality of life and prevent or postpone heart disease. A heart-healthy breakfast and lunch will also be provided for all workshop participants.
Cost for the workshop is $20 per person until Monday, Feb. 2. Seating is limited to 100. Registration includes a full lipid panel and blood pressure screening, breakfast, lunch and all printed materials.
Those who want a full lipid panel must come to the conference fasting for 12 hours.
