Brothers earn Eagle Awards
MT. PLEASANT– Colton and Joshua Roberts, sons of Philip and Teresa Roberts, Mt. Pleasant, recently received the honor rank of an Eagle Scout.
They are members of Troop #1643 ad have worked hard at earning merit badges and performing service projects, along with gaining the essential skills taught by the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) leaders.
Being brothers in the scouting program has proven to be both competitive and supportive at the same time. While both boys have gained leadership skills, Colton also served as a staff member at the Maple Dell Scout Camp, Payson, as a junior instructor for the rifle, shotgun and archery range for the past three summers.
Joshua received his counselor in Training (CIT) for being a staff member at the Maple Dell Scout Camp in 2008. During that time, he earned and qualified for his BSA lifeguard and first aid and CPR training certificates.
Colton placed an informative community activities board in front of Mt. Pleasant City Hall and Joshua painted the Mt. Pleasant rodeo and fairgrounds north bleachers and animal corrals to protect them from rust and weather damage.
Both brothers appreciate the following local businesses and citizens of Mt. Pleasant for their support of the completed Eagle projects: Mt. Pleasant City; Mt. Pleasant City Library; Fairview Ornamental Iron; Christiansen Glass and Paint; and Skyline Pharmacy.
