Daniel J. Rigby, son of Linda and Dan Rigby of American Fork, will be awarded the rank of Eagle Scout on March 15, 2009. Daniel is an excellent student at American Fork High School. His service project was collecting old or unused glasses and then donating them to an organization called “Give the Gift of Sight”. The glasses were then sent to third world countries all over the world.
Tanner Wheadon, son of Rick and Jana Wheadon of Alpine will receive his Eagle Scout award at a court of honor to be held Sunday, March 15, 2009. He will also be presented a Bronze Palm that evening. Tanner earned 43 merit badges and his 50-miler award. He is a Junior at Lone peak High School and is an honor roll student. For his Eagle project he organized the assembly and distribution of an Emergency Preparedness binder for 100 homes in his Alpine neighborhood.
Christopher John Jex, age 18, son of John and Sylvia Jex of Lehi, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout in January 2009. He is in the Cedar Hollow 6th Ward and his service project was gathering and packaging over 65 hygiene kits for the homeless in Utah County. Chris is the 5th son in his family to receive his Eagle. He loves snowboarding, wakeboarding and excels in basketball. He has received a scholarship to Dixie College and will serve a mission for the LDS church later this year.
