SANPETE COUNTY– Community calendar activities for the month of March are as follows:
Ephraim Lions fund-raiser
The Ephraim Lions Club and Sees Chocolate have joined forces for a fundraiser to build a new kitchen pavilion at the Canyon View Park, Ephraim. Sees Chocolates are available at Island Riders, 69 South Main. Orders are currently being taken. Contact 283-4188.
Flu vaccines
The Central Utah Public Health Department is offering flu vaccines at their Manti, Mt. Pleasant, Richfield, Delta, Fillmore, Nephi, Loa and Junction offices this season. Walk-ins are always welcome and most insurances are accepted. Vaccinations will be available until June 1.

Hotlines for Utah families to use in times of crisis include Utah Domestic Violence Link Line 1-800-897-LINK (5465); Rape and Sexual Assault Crisis Line 1-888-421-1100; and National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline 1-888-331-9474.
Donate cell phones
The Sanpete Valley Hospital is collecting old cell phones and cell phone batteries. Secure the call foundation takes phones, fixes them and reprograms them to be used as free 911 emergency phones.
This can be done without a carrier service plan so the phones are distributed to domestic violence shelters, senior centers, neighborhood watch groups, school crossing guards and other agency with need of immediate 911 access. Canner testing will be available during the month of March at the USU Extension office in Ephraim, for a donation. To make an appointment on the hour or half hour between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., leave a message at usuext@gmail.com or 435-283-7596.
March 20
6 p.m., Sanpete County High School Rodeo Team will hold their annual fundraising banquet at North Sanpete High School. The county is encouraged to attend and bid on items donated by local businesses and private citizens. For more information or to donate contact Ali at 435-462-3816 or Carlie, 435-462-0048.
7:30 p.m. Spring Showcase will be held at the Snow College Eccles Center Jorgensen Concert Hall. This event is free to the public. For more information or to sign up for an e-mail-mailing list, contact the Eccles Center box office at 435-283-7472.
1 p.m., USU Ext. Agriculture Agent Matt Palmer will be conducting a fruit tree pruning demonstration workshop in Gunnison at 124 East 100 North.
March 21
Annual Scouting for Food drive will begin with Cub Scouts delivering bags to homes throughout the area. Scouts will pick up the bags March 28.
March 24
7:30 p.m., Jazz 1 Concert, with special guest Juilliard Faculty, Jorgensen Concert Hall, Snow College.
March 25
6 – 8 p.m., March 25, April 1, 8 15–Free finance workshop series offered by USU Ext. West Snow Campus 6-8 p.m. presenting the UIDAN program. Qualify to triple your savings must be 18 years or older, UT resident, earning income (no more than $35,200 for family of 3), no more than $10,000 in net assets, not counting house or 1 car. March 28
Annual Scouting for Food concludes as Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts will pick up bags which were delivered March 21. Arrangements for pick-up can be made by contacting Gayle Jensen at 435-462-3006 or Ron Tuttle at 435-835-4180.
Mt. Pleasant Pioneer Day, will be held at the North Sanpete LDS Stake Center, 461 North 300 West. Doors will open at 11 a.m. for visiting. Tickets will be sold starting at 11 a.m. for the box lunch to be served at noon followed by a sesquicentennial program. The Relic Home and Blacksmith Shop will be open and operating following the program.
