Utah music teachers to meet
The Nebo Chapter of the Utah Music Teachers thanks Dr. Jeremy Grimshaw for presenting to us in March. This was a very interesting and fun way to learn some of the intense rhythms, melodic chants and choreography involved in Balinese keck “monkey chant” performances. It was fun to participate and listen to the rhythms as they intertwine to form this exciting sonic environment of the Island of Bali.
The April UMTA Nebo Chapter Meeting will be held Wednesday, Apr. 8, at 10 a.m. at Boothe Brothers Music, 135 N. Main, Spanish Fork. This month our guest presenter will be Alena Hall (NCTM).
Hall teaches jazz, organ and piano in Springville. She will be teaching techniques and methods teachers can use when teaching jazz to students. Come enjoy this wonderful presentation by Hall and exchange ideas with fellow music teachers.
