Editor’s mailbag

By Randy Wright - | Nov 13, 2012

I recently received this rhyming (more or less) screed from a reader who seems to have taken Mitt Romney’s loss to Barack Obama a bit too seriously:

“God help us, the Antichrist has been re-elected / Those of us that are older will soon be selected / for death, as rationed health care has its way / He promised to give us all a glorious new day / But four years of his hope and change are over / And with four more I doubt we can ever recover / The next four years will see us circle the drain / sliding into a great abyss with little to remain / He’ll make our shining city on a hill a soviet hell / As to freeloaders and the lazy he was one easy sell / The idiotic and incompetent all voted for Obama / Whom they all chose in a total imbecilic coma / They’ll soon find if they have a dollar in hand / Obama’ll consider them a rich woman or man / As they all cry and complain that ‘I’m not rich’ / Remember that I didn’t vote for …” [last phrase omitted].

The really scary thing is that there are folks among us who write poetry this bad. Four more years of Obama as president is one thing, but this guy’s meter is atrocious.

Starting at $4.32/week.
