Larger than Life!

By Mark Johnston - | Feb 26, 2014

As a Utah Jazz fan growing up, (at least from the age of 13 when I moved to Utah), I always dreamed of something like this- getting a visit at school from a towering NBA player. So it’s always fun to see the excitement in kids’ faces when stars like Enes Kanter pay a visit to their classroom.

When I was informed that a number of Jazz players would visit schools in Utah Valley to reward students who excelled in the “Be A Team Player- Read” contest, I knew Kanter, being one of the tallest players on the team, would make some fun photos. At 6’11” he dwarfed the children and even seemed to intimidate some of them, looking, I’m sure, larger than life to a kid only a few feet tall.

While I wasn’t certain I had anything good to run with while shooting the assignment, it was nice to edit the take and pick out a number of cute moments that ended up producing a fun gallery.
