New Guy

By Grant Hindsley - | Feb 26, 2014

It’s been just a few weeks since I arrived here in Utah for the very first time for my first ever staff photographer job.

I feel right at home.

I quickly learned my appetite for adventure, fun, and photography will be deeply satisfied in my new home state. I’ve been ice climbing, hung with predatory birds, hiked miles to hot springs, and met a ton of amazing people.

It’s the little things that get me though. I was between some assignments during my second or third week here, neither were looking particularly visual, but I had a few minutes to spare, so I went exploring. The clouds broke, and let this beautiful light shine through on the Wasatch, and I hopped out of my car, jumped a barbed wire fence and ran through the mud to get a shot I wanted as the light faded. It’s those little moments of excitement and exploration that make me tick, and Utah is filled with them.

I’m extremely excited to be here and hope to see you all around.
