LDS Church earns Glassdoor Best Places to Work ranking

By Karissa Neely daily Herald - | Dec 7, 2016

As an employer, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently earned a top spot on the 2017 Glassdoor Best Places to Work.

At No. 19, the LDS Church sits just under other big-name corporations like Facebook, Google, In-N-Out Burger, LinkedIn, Adobe and Nestle Purina Pet Care. Based in Salt Lake City, it is the only Utah-based corporation to crack the top 50 list. While it’s a bit odd for a worldwide religious entity to rank on this list, the LDS Church actually employs thousands of workers with various organizational duties.

This is also not the first time the LDS Church has made the Glassdoor’s top 50. The Church moved up from last year’s No. 22 ranking on the same list. With a rating of 4.3 out of 5, the LDS Church came in well above other large corporations including: Airbnb, Apple and Microsoft.

According to Glassdoor, the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award winners for the 2017 Best Places to Work are judged based on the quantity, quality and consistency of Glassdoor-approved company reviews shared by U.S.-based employees between Nov. 2, 2015 and Oct. 30, 2016.
