Local customers looking to fly out of Provo to San Diego and Oakland recently encountered problems booking when the routes provided through Allegiant Air were not showing available dates online.

The nonstop routes provided by Allegiant out of the Provo Airport are on seasonal suspensions, according to Allegiant media relations on Tuesday. Flights from Oakland are unavailable for booking after Jan. 2, and flights from San Diego are unavailable after Jan. 4.

There is no confirmed date when the routes to San Diego and Oakland will resume. The airline said routes vary by season and it will be taking a look at demands as it goes along.

The Allegiant route to San Diego out of the Provo Airport began operation in September 2016, running twice per week.

Allegiant also services routes from Provo to Los Angeles and Phoenix/Mesa.
