Cinemark to ban big bags in theaters
This week, Cinemark announced Tuesday that effective Thursday, Feb. 22, large bags will not be permitted in their theaters. The company says the policy change comes as an effort to “enhance the safety and security of our guests and employees.”
The new policy bans bags larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches. The company will make exceptions for medical equipment and diaper bags.
The company also says that they will not provide an area to check bags or personal belongings that are not allowed in the theater, and that they will reserve the right to inspect all bags entering their theaters.
Cinemark operates four locations in Utah County, including in American Fork, Orem, Provo and Spanish Fork.
