Utah Auto Expo runs through Jan. 15

By Craig And Deanne Conover - | Jan 13, 2018

The 2018 Utah International Auto Expo opened yesterday morning at 11 a.m. to the general public and will remain open through Monday evening until 8 p.m. Jan. 15. This is a great opportunity to go out and see all the new vehicles that the major manufactures will be offering this year.

This year, before the show started Friday morning, Gail Miller, wife of the late Larry H. Miller, was inducted into the Utah Automobile Hall of Fame. Miller is owner of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies and Chair of the Board of Directors of Larry H. Miller Management Corporation.

This annual event offers consumers the chance to compare hundreds of new vehicles side by side, all under one roof. Attendees of the auto show will be able to witness the debut of the newest automobiles from manufacturers including: Acura, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Jeep, Subaru, Toyota and many more.

This year it is all about the technology that is available in and driving new vehicles. With electric cars becoming more mainstream and with charging times changing, all the manufacturers are scrambling to come out with some type of all electric or electric-hybrid. The new Nissan Leaf now looks more mainstream and will get over 100 miles on a charge and with fast charger will charge 90 miles in 30 minutes.

The new Toyota Camry is loaded with technology and the high-set trim level can now be had with a heads-up display and every safety feature on the market, now priced under $35,000.

Performance is also still part of the package at the Auto Expo. Be sure to check out the new Kia Stinger with a V6 that produces 365 horsepower, or the new Lexus LS 500 with a 3.5 liter V6 making 415 horsepower and gets to 60 in 4.6 seconds.

After checking out the new models in the displays, licensed drivers are invited to get behind the wheel and test drive several new vehicles on the streets around the South Towne Expo Center. From trucks to sedans, drivers can take a spin in a variety of the latest models from Honda, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Fiat, Ford and Toyota. Test drive vehicles will include: Camry, Corolla, Highlander, Civic, Accord, Odyssey, Clarity Plug-In TRG, Challenger, RAM 1500, Grand Cherokee, Edge, Focus, Fiesta, F150, and many more.

Starting at $4.32/week.
