Dressbarn closing all 650 stores nationwide, one in Orem
Clothing retailer Dressbarn announced Tuesday that it will close all of its stores nationwide, including one in Orem.
The company says that it will commence “a wind down of its retail operations” and would close approximately 650 stores across the country.
“For more than 50 years, Dressbarn has served women’s fashion needs, and we thank all of our dedicated associates for their commitment to Dressbarn and our valued customers,” said Steven Taylor Chief Financial Officer in a press release. “This decision was difficult, but necessary, as the Dressbarn chain has not been operating at an acceptable level of profitability in today’s retail environment.”
The stores and online retail operations will remain open as the store goes through the closure process, the company said.
Dressbarn sells women’s clothing, shoes and accessories.
The lone Utah County Dressbarn location is at University Place.
There are eight Dressbarn locations in Utah, including West Jordan, Draper, Park City, Layton, Riverdale, Logan, St. George and Orem.
