What a great experience it was to have a full week with the flagship sedan in the 2025 Genesis line the G90. Oh, the pampering a car can give!
For anyone that is lucky enough to spend any amount of time behind the wheel of the all-new 2025 Genesis G90 3.5T ZMHEV, the experience can be summed up in one word: exquisite. Genesis has taken its flagship sedan to a new level, proving once again that it deserves a place among the world’s finest luxury automobiles. With every detail meticulously crafted and every mile delivering an elevated sense of calm, this was more than just a car — it proved to be a destination in motion.
We had the G90 for a week and used it faithfully as our daily driver throughout Utah Valley. From quick grocery runs to dinner outings and work commutes, the G90 turned every task into a refined experience. But the highlight of our week came on Friday night when we dressed up for a dinner out in Salt Lake City. Slipping into the G90 felt more like entering a high-end lounge than just climbing into a car. Genesis has truly outdone themselves with this one.
A flagship that feels like a private jet
As Genesis’ flagship sedan, the 2025 G90 is meant to showcase the brand’s best in design, performance and comfort. It was immediately apparent when we approached the vehicle. The elegant silhouette, defined by smooth lines and subtle chrome accents, commanded attention in the most tasteful way possible. The signature Genesis crest grille was flanked by split LED headlights, giving the front fascia a bold but sophisticated presence.
Perhaps the paint was the most noticed part of the new G90 throughout our test ride week as the Verbier White paint had a matte-like quality to it but then gave off a subtle glow be it day or night, it stood out in a crowd.

Once inside, we were enveloped by an atmosphere that felt more suited to a limousine than a traditional sedan. The interior was wrapped in buttery-soft obsidian black Nappa leather. From the suede headliner to the real wood trim and metallic accents, every surface oozed craftsmanship.
And then there were the seats. Oh, the seats! All four positions in the G90 came with heating, ventilation and yes — massaging functions. That’s not a typo. All. Four. Seats. Whether we were driving through Provo traffic or relaxing in the driveway waiting for someone to finish an errand, those massaging seats became our favorite part of the vehicle. Deanne especially appreciated the rear passenger-side seat, which reclined and extended like a chaise lounge. We came to refer to it as “the spa seat.”
Power and grace in perfect harmony
Under the hood, the 2025 G90 3.5T featured a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system, delivering 409 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. The hybrid system added electric supercharging for extra responsiveness, especially when pulling away from a stop or merging onto the freeway.
On the road, this powertrain delivered a smooth, confident acceleration. It was quick when it needed to be but never in a brash or showy way. Everything about the G90 is tuned for serenity. Even at high speeds, road and wind noise are almost nonexistent. Genesis engineers have clearly spent hours refining the cabin isolation, suspension damping and drivetrain smoothness to ensure all passengers are pampered no matter the speed.

In fact, the G90’s ride quality might be its most impressive feature. With adaptive air suspension that reads the road ahead and adjusts in real time, even rough Utah pavement felt freshly repaved. We found ourselves taking the long way home just to enjoy a few more minutes of uninterrupted tranquility.
The vehicle’s dynamic prowess showed up beautifully on our Friday night drive into Salt Lake City. With the sun setting behind the Wasatch Front, we cruised up I-15 with the G90 gliding effortlessly past slower traffic. Lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, and semiautonomous driving features all worked in harmony to keep us stress-free and focused on each other. By the time we reached our dinner destination, we felt refreshed — not fatigued, as can often happen after an hour-plus in the car.
Technology that serves, not distracts
Of course, a flagship vehicle in 2025 needs to deliver the latest in tech, and the G90 certainly did that. The wide 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a matching infotainment screen dominated the dash, yet everything was tastefully integrated into the luxurious interior.
We loved the rotary controller in the center console, which allowed us to navigate the system without constantly reaching for a touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto came standard, and the Bang & Olufsen 3D premium sound system — complete with 26 speakers — was nothing short of symphonic. During one evening drive, we queued up some classical music, and it felt like we had front-row seats at Abravanel Hall.

Rear-seat passengers also enjoyed individual touchscreens, powered sunshades and their own climate controls. There’s even a fragrance diffuser built into the HVAC system. Genesis calls this “Mood Curator,” and it really did enhance the sense of well-being.
Daily driving excellence
Throughout the week, the G90 never failed to impress in real-world scenarios. Whether running errands around Springville, driving up to Orem for work or grabbing lunch in downtown Provo, it was always easy to maneuver despite its full-size dimensions. The 360-degree camera system helped with tight parking lots, and the automatic door-closing feature ensured no one ever had to slam a door shut.
Fuel economy was another pleasant surprise. Thanks to the mild hybrid setup, we averaged about 23 mpg combined, not bad for a car with the size and luxury of the G90. The start-stop system was buttery smooth, and the transition between electric and gas power was almost imperceptible.
At the end of the week
At the end of our week with the 2025 Genesis G90 3.5T MHEV, it was difficult to hand back the keys. We’ve driven a lot of luxury vehicles over the years, but few have left such a lasting impression. The G90 combines beauty, intelligence and comfort in a way that few vehicles — regardless of price — can manage.
Genesis has positioned the G90 as a true flagship, and in our opinion, it more than holds its own against German stalwarts like the BMW 7 Series or Mercedes-Benz S-Class. In some ways, it surpasses them — particularly when it comes to the pampering interior and exceptional value.
For anyone considering a luxury sedan that can serve as both a driver’s car and a chauffeur-ready retreat, the 2025 Genesis G90 deserves a top spot on the list. It’s not just transportation. It’s an experience.
