Allen's Block is pictured Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, in Springville.

Clyde Companies purchased Allen’s Block in Springville and is soliciting community feedback to determine what to build on the property to improve the downtown area.

The property on 400 S. and Main Street was formerly home to Allen’s Super Save Market before its closure in 2018.

It was purchased by a Clyde entity, Springville Rising, and will be referred as “4th and Main” by the Clyde Companies. Temporary fencing has been placed around the block, and it will undergo asbestos mitigation and demolition.

“We live in this community, we care about this community, and we are excited to give back to this community,” Clyde Companies President and CEO Jeremy Hafen said in a news release. “Purchasing this property is part of our commitment to build a better community, to give back in a way that strengthens our local economy for decades to come.”

Hafen said the company is looking for a long-term solution for the property to enhance the land’s value and serve as a good fit for its history and culture. Clyde Companies set up a page where people can submit their feedback on what they want at the site.

Several people offered their suggestions on social media last week.

Brendan Larking said on Facebook that it should be converted into a mini Riverwoods, with an open plaza in the middle and an ascetic that matches the rest of downtown.

Debra Nemrow suggested it should become a city cultural center.

“No franchise-type places,” she said. “Specialty food, art studios, music studios, place for cultural events, theater for plays, symphony, dance. Make it truly an “Art City” draw.”

Starting at $4.32/week.
