Whether you are a first-time visitor or a long time participant to Fiesta Days in Spanish Fork, you will want to know what top tips residents shared on how to prepare for the city celebration.

“Bring sunblock because it’s going to be really hot,” said resident Nick Baird.

He’s probably right. Temperatures usually vary and in July the heat can be debilitating if you aren’t prepared.

Another tip was to include a few bottles of water to have readily accessible to stay hydrated.

“Plan for the events and then bring lots of water, because it gets hot,” Jessica Mcshinsky said.

Her tip about planning helps those attending to have a game plan. She said she would recommend getting a Fiesta Days magazine and looking at the list of events and deciding what you would like to do. A list of events is also available at spanishfork.org under “events.”

Another good tip came from Crystal August. She said she would tell visitors to take enough cash if you want to buy ride tickets, sidewalk sale items, food, quilts or crafts.

“It’s probably the easiest way to pay,” she said. “If you are planning on going to the parade, you probably want to have food and water and chairs, basic stuff like that.”

Stephen and Kathy Tibbs are on the Fiesta Days Committee and big fans of the annual celebration.

“Definitely bring sunblock, bottles of water, blankets and maybe a few snacks to sit around as a family and eat,” Kathy Tibbs said. “You better get your tickets now because I heard they are almost gone.”

Spanish Fork Councilman Richard Davis gave a tip that would make his constituents proud.

“Bring a big smile because that is what it is all about is having a great time and enjoying people in Spanish Fork, the greatest town in the world,” Davis said.
