Each year, the Strawberry Days rodeo in Pleasant Grove holds the Mutton Bustin’ event before the PRCA rodeo. It’s an event that crowd looks forward to almost as much as the actual rodeo.

Mutton Bustin’ as it’s known is a sport not for the faint of heart. Kids, usually ages 3-10, are tasked with riding on sheep. As the sheep are released, they naturally bust out at full speed, leaving the little riders to hold on for dear life.

About 20 riders participated in Wednesday’s festivities, with cheers from the crowd. Each kid was a “winner” in the event, all earning his or her own T-shirts from the rodeo. The rider with the highest score received a trophy.
