Savory and Sweet

There’s a lot of truth in advertising at the new Savory and Sweet restaurant in Orem. The main entree menus are separated between “Pasta Dishes” and “Savory Crepes.” The latter options could be compared to sandwiches — except they are all served inside crepes instead of bread or tortillas. We sampled items off each menu and especially enjoyed the Southwestern Crepe, the Chicken Salad Crepe and the Three Cheese Tortellini. We also suggest several items off the dessert menu, including the Banana Foster Gourmet Crepe.

La Puente

When making arrangements to dine at La Puente, be sure that you arrive hungry. The portions are generous, and by generous I mean that our party could probably have filled up just on the half-size portion of Nachos Grande we ordered as an appetizer. The Large Combination Platter has a cheese enchilada, tostada, taco, burrito, Chili Verde, rice, refried beans and a large flour tortilla, all for less than $10.
