‘Angels in the Snow’ a heartening family holiday movie
Based on the novel “Christmas Journey” by best-selling author Rexanne Becnel, “Angels in the Snow” is a profound story of two families: the Mongomerys and the Tuckers.
The Montgomery family is wealthy but they are also fractured. There is no communication between them and Charles (Chris Potter) spends all his time worrying about work. He doesn’t understand that his wife, Judith (Kristy Swanson), his son Alexander, 15, (Nick Purcha); daughters Jennifer, 14, (Lizzie Boys); and Emily, 10, (Jaeda Lily Haggquist); don’t care as much about money as he does. They simply want his love and some of his attention.
Charles packs his family and takes them to their new vacation cabin in the mountains. What a cabin! This man has built a beautiful and large house. It’s like a hotel, to the dismay of Judith, who was hoping for a small, cozy little cabin where they could spend the holiday.
With the biggest storm of the year barreling down on them, they are awakened in the night by knocking on their door. When they open it they find a family who has been stranded by the storm. Their van slid off the road and they are cold with nowhere to go. Judith invites the Tuckers into their home and gets them dry and cared for. With the storm outside, they are all stranded together in this large house and as they the spend time, the Montgomery kids see a family that is what they want theirs to be: kind, loving, and attentive to each other.
Joe Tucker (Colin Lawrence), Amy (Catherine Lough Haggquist), and their children Lucie, 15, (Alexandra Siouras); and Robbie, 16, (Kolton Stewart); are happy. They outwardly love each other. And what is even more impressive to the Montgomery kids, they enjoy spending time with each other.
As the time goes by and the two families share their Christmas together, a secret held by the Montgomerys comes out. It is a heart-wrenching fact that was the reason the family is basically fractured.
The bottom line is, and this is no surprise to viewers of the UP network or family holiday films, the Montgomery family rediscovers the love and feelings of togetherness and family, thanks to the Tuckers. But there is even more to this. After all, it’s the season of miracles. For that, you’ll have to watch the movie.
