‘Masha and the Bear’: From Russia with love
The Russian animated TV series “Masha and the Bear” is available on Netflix (and YouTube).
This is a fun show with an adorable little girl, Masha, and her friend the Bear, who is retired from the circus but still has plenty of acrobatic moves left in him.
The show premiered in Russia in 2009. Masha is an adorable little girl who manages to get into a bit of mischief although she is fun loving and well meaning. Her friend the Bear adores her and looks out for her, but sometimes she tries his patience. She loves to play and have fun, as any little child does.
The relationship between the Bear and Masha is sweet and caring. Together they have plenty of adventures, thanks to Masha’s curiosity and love of life. This little girl is relentless but Bear puts up with her because he cares deeply for her.
The creator of the series, Oleg Kuzovkov, has been recognized and applauded by “Animation Magazine.” The show won the 2015 Kidscreen Award for the Best Animation in Creative Talent.
The new episode that aired in October broke the YouTube record with over 7.4 million views. And one episode, “Recipe for Disaster” was in the top 10 most-viewed videos on YouTube. That’s saying a lot. It says that viewers are clamoring for more of this delightful duo. The third season is scheduled to be released in 2018, however in the meantime, the first two seasons are available to view over and over again on Netflix.
This series has been beloved by viewers worldwide. With toys and party supplies, Masha has been embraced in households around the world. And it’s no wonder. This little girl is precious. Just look at her with her sweet smile. She can’t help but put a smile on anyone’s face.
This holiday season there will be plenty of requests for Masha and the Bear products on kids’ wish lists. Masha dolls inspire creativity as well as simply being there for hugs and as a great pal for kids.
