Jennette got the Lunch Special at Lucy's Pizzeria -- and loved it.

We have almost made it all the way through January.

This is indeed something to celebrate, even if we are not holding up to our resolutions. These resolutions can either be going strong or maybe we have forgotten what they were or that we even made them in the first place. All the decorations have been put away and our lives have returned to our schedules and individual levels of normalcy. All of your lunch friends are back to work and it is time to reconnect and catch up with old friends.

There is a great place to facilitate this reconnection and just get away from the work place for your lunch break. Lucy’s Pizzeria in Orem is a quiet location to get good pizza, salad, or a sandwich, and to hear all the news from friends. It is a clean, nice environment to sit and will give you the required atmosphere needed to communicate effectively.

Lucy’s Pizzeria is in a great location for offices both in Orem and in the Riverwoods area. At the corner of Orem Center Street and State Street you will not have to spend most of your lunch hour traveling to eat. This will provide you with more time to reconnect with your friends and coworkers.

It is also a great location to go over your resolutions, resolve to make new ones or recommit to the ones that have been forgotten over these last three weeks.

As January drags on with cold weather and the never-changing scenery, treat yourself to some New York style pizza that might just remind you of better times and warmer months. As you connect with new/old friends or take this opportunity to learn more about a coworker, Lucy’s is a great place to do this. You do not just have to take my word for it. Below you can read what we all got during this time of reconnection and rejuvenation.

Jennette — Lunch Special, slice of pizza, salad and drink $6.50

I have said this before, but I love to travel. My favorite city to visit is New York City. I love the culture, buildings, museums and the food. The last time I visited NYC my friends and I discovered a little pizza place down the street from our hotel. I think we went there three different times because it was so good. Well I found a little piece of NYC right here in Orem at Lucy’s. I decided to try the lunch special which is a slice of pizza, a house salad and a drink. The salad was topped with olives, pepperoni, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. They had many dressings to choose from, I went with the mango vinaigrette. It was delicious. The pepperoni pizza slice was very authentic NYC style pizza, thin crust, sauce, cheese and pepperoni. I loved it! Lucy’s does have Pepsi product so I ordered a Diet Mt. Dew. It was a great lunch!

Janell — Firesticks $5.25, Black Angus Sub $7.50

It is so refreshing to go a new place to eat and not have it be overly crowded. It was quiet and we were given great attention. I am not a huge fan of pizza and have spent the better part of my life trying to find places that I can enjoy when my friends want pizza. Most places only give you the option of pizza, pasta or a salad. Needless to say I have become a great fan of pasta. At Lucy’s, I was given opportunity to have something different as an option. The Black Angus Sub is supposed to be like a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. It has mushrooms, peppers, provolone cheese, and steak all served on a hoagie roll. The steak was cooked to perfection and came out in nice thick slices on my bread. I think if you might be like me and are looking for a place that provides more than just pizza, Lucy’s Pizzeria in Orem is the place for your lunch group.

Daniel — Zestpian Pizza, 12 Inch, $14.35

It is always hard to find New York Style pizza outside of New York City, but Lucy’s Pizzeria in Orem is a strong contender. The atmosphere within the restaurant was great, and I loved all the NYC décor — it felt like I was in the heart of the city. I had a hard time deciding on what to order, but got an excellent recommendation from the staff. I went with the Zestpian Pizza which is one of the larger pizzas that you can get in three different sizes — 12-, 15- or 18-inch. I went with the 12 and it was plenty of food. I loved the thin crust and the way Lucy’s had BBQ sauce and ranch mixed for the sauce instead of your normal marinara for pizza. On the menu it lists that the pizza is “suffocated” with toppings, and that is correct. I loved the amount of jalapenos, bacon, pineapple and other meat toppings that made this pizza delicious. Prepare to drink plenty of water with this one as the jalapenos were spicy, but so good. Next time I need an NYC fix, I will be sure to head on over to Lucy’s in Orem.

Well now that you know what we all had for lunch, I would like to take a moment and give a thanks to Daniel Benavides for helping us out in the month of January. We are grateful for his willingness to be a “Lunch Lad” and to hold the spot of Gabrielle Harris, who will be returning to our ranks in the month of February. In the meantime, grab your friends and head out to Lucy’s Pizzeria.
