Fry sauce lovers push back on Heinz ‘Mayochup’

By Stacy Johnson daily Herald - | Apr 11, 2018

Chances are, if you are from Utah, you know what fry sauce is — that delicious combination of mayonnaise and ketchup that is the perfect addition to any plate of French fries. Eating fry sauce has practically become a Utah tradition.

But, according to Heinz, its not called fry sauce.

Heinz has released its new product called Mayochup in the Middle East, but according to a tweet Thursday, they are considering bringing it the U.S.

Want #mayochup in stores? 500,000 votes for “yes” and we’ll release it to you saucy Americans,” the post on Twitter said. The post included a poll where people could vote to “pass the Heinz Mayochup” or “Nah, I’ll make my own.”

Responses to the post on social media ranged from people willing to give it a try to people who were disgusted by the idea. There were also a group of respondents who were adamant that the product should be called fry sauce.

Starting at $4.32/week.
